Civil Engineering SME (Finance)

Arcadis seeks a Civil Engineering SME to join our team in the New York / New Jersey area, to provide specialized technical expertise and leadership for the design, construction, and delivery related to the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project. This role requires deep knowledge of heavy civil engineering practices, construction methodologies, and regulatory standards. The SME will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure the successful execution of project objectives while maintaining quality, safety, and budget adherence.

Arcadis is a part of the MPA Delivery Partner team, charged with supporting the Gateway Development Commission delivering the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). We are building this delivery team by combining our existing global and local experts and bringing on the additional required talent that will be necessary to deliver the HTP. We are seeking to engage technical experts excited by this opportunity who would like to join our locally based teams in New York and in New Jersey.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the main technical resource for civil engineering projects within the company.
  • Provide expert advice on design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Offer solutions to complex engineering problems and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in civil engineering.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering.

Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated success in project management and leadership with a proven track record.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities to tackle complex challenges effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $245,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
