Paranoids Senior Engineering Manager (Finance)

We are the information security team at Yahoo; known as "The Paranoids".

As a part of the Paranoids Advanced Cyber Threats Team, we protect Yahoo, its brands, and their users. We ensure that our users are kept safe from targeted attacks and account hijacking by government backed attackers. We investigate cyber threats that affect Yahoo's infrastructure, properties, and worldwide user base and apply innovative legal and technical remedies to mitigate those activities.

The Cyber Engineering Team is a highly customer-focused and hyper-collaborative engineering group. We share a joint mission with the larger security group, The Paranoids, to safeguard Yahoo's digital assets from internal and external cyber threats. We strive to deliver optimal engineering solutions and customer experiences to fuel the capabilities of our security teams and further strengthen Yahoo's security posture.

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Software Engineering who is enthusiastic about leading and growing high-performance Engineering teams. In this role, you will be critical in achieving our mission to empower Yahoo security teams with best-in-class tools, services, and data insights to make intelligent decisions in detecting and deterring cyber threats.

What You'll Do:

  • Set quarterly goals and well-defined KPIs to measure team progress and success.
  • Drive engineering & operational excellence through data-driven processes and methodologies.
  • Recruit top talent, mentor, and develop growth plans for the team members.
  • Develop trusted partnerships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to drive optimal business outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of customer-centricity, psychological safety & continuous improvements
  • Internalize and exemplify Paranoid's core values in your daily actions; lead by example.

Required Qualification:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3 plus years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams
  • Multi-year expertise in public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Experience in cybersecurity, particularly in threat detection and abuse prevention, is preferred.
  • A results-driven mindset focused on execution and capable of working through ambiguity.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security Engineering experience
  • AI/ML experience

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
