Industrial Electrician (Maintenance)



Industrial Electrician
Greenville, South Carolina

Industrial Electricians are responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems in industrial spaces. This includes testing, troubleshooting, and replacing electrical components to ensure systems function safely and efficiently. Familiarity with a number of tools to install and service electrical systems, observing company safety guidelines, documenting each project and updating client records, providing material cost and time estimates, and training apprentices. You should also be able to easily diagnose electrical faults. Successful candidate should be able to read blueprints, use diagnostic tools, and make decisions under pressure.
Qualifications:

Installing, repairing, and servicing electrical systems.
High, Medium, and Low voltage and PLC experience is required.
Interpreting blueprints and drawing rough sketches when required.
Guiding and overseeing other apprentices or journeyman electricians.
Drawing up preventative maintenance measures and explaining these to clients and other electricians.
Testing and troubleshooting systems.
Providing assistance during emergencies.
Updating project records and preparing relevant documents and reports for clients.

Additional Functions

A valid driver's license.
Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication.
Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 3-5 years documented experience as an Electrician.
Relevant license or certification.

Requirements:

Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift
Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site
Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor

The job requires occasionally remaining on one's feet in an upright position without moving for long periods of time, occasionally moving about on foot for long periods of time, remaining in a seated position for long periods of time, and/or climbing stairs, step-ladders, extension ladders and scaffolding ladders. The job also requires the ability to raise or lower an object of approximately 5-50 pounds from one level to another, the ability to transport an object of up to 50 pounds a distance of up to 10 yards, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder, the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves away from the force, and/or the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly so that an object moves toward the force.
Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2 ton pick-up for occasional delivery and pick-up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
