Water/Wastewater Civil Engineer (Finance)
WATER PRACTICE
Michael Baker International's Water Group provides innovative consulting, planning and engineering solutions for the entire spectrum of the water cycle. We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services. Protection and management of water resources starts at the watershed level and follows the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
DESCRIPTION
You will be involved with a variety of projects related to water and wastewater planning and design, working as part of a project team lead by a Project Manager and comprised of other Project Engineers and Designers. Typical daily duties may include:
•Preparing water and sewer master plans, including data research, hydraulic modeling and analysis, evaluation of alternatives, and production and delivery of master plan reports.
•Preparing design calculations, technical memoranda, construction drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
•Providing engineering support during the construction phase of projects.
•Providing technical support for marketing and proposal efforts and during the procurement of key projects.
•Assisting project managers with project coordination and development of planning concepts and design strategies.
•Communicating directly with colleagues, clients, and other project stakeholders to effectively coordinate and resolve project issues.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on environmental and/or water resources engineering, or related engineering field and a minimum of 6 years' of experience.
•Professional Engineer registration in California (P.E.)
•Be self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting the Water and Wastewater Group.
•Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.
•Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation
•Proficient in Hydraulic Modeling of water distribution and sewer collection systems
•Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint
