The Role

Prudential is seeking a VP of MarTech to lead the strategy, roadmap, implementation, and management of transformative marketing technology products and platforms that deliver on marketing and business objectives.  This leader will drive the strategy & implementation of best-in-class technology platforms with a focus on enhancing customer and prospect experience through personalization, marketing automation, customer data platforms, and digital asset management.  The VP of MarTech will lead teams of product managers and product owners within an agile delivery framework through strong leadership skills and influencing at all levels of the organization.  The individual will translate strategy into actionable tactics to drive business outcomes, as well as ‘get in the weeds' while also being able to think ‘big picture'.

The position will report to the VP of Marketing Technology & Operations and will provide a high level of autonomy and exposure to senior leadership within the company.

Job responsibilities:

  • Define and own the strategy, innovation roadmap requirements and development of our MarTech stack to modernize and transform Prudential's enterprise marketing capabilities and platforms
  • Lead and execute complex, high visibility projects focused on industry leading omni-channel personalization experiences for prospects and customers, marketing automation and enterprise data platforms
  • Lead and grow a high performing team of product managers and product owners in agile and New Ways of Working (NWoW) environments
  • Build strong relationships with cross functional teams across marketing, analytics, data science, technology, and product to drive effective collaboration, influence, and alignment to marketing strategy
  • Develop product assessments, POV's, business cases and align marketing technology investments to business goals and metrics
  • Drive successful change management and adoption of new marketing technology capabilities across the enterprise
  • Partner with MarTech vendors and in-house Technology group to articulate and execute Prudential's MarTech strategy, requirements, and roadmaps as well as influence vendor roadmaps
  • Partner with technology and marketing leaders on operationalizing the marketing technology vision
  • Thought leader and subject matter expert for strategic, cross-platform marketing initiatives (personalization, automation, customer data platforms)
  • Passion for learning and keeping up to date about MarTech trends/new technology while representing Prudential across industry events and speaking engagements

Your Expertise

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, MBA or Business degree a plus
  • 15+ years' experience in digitally enabled businesses
  • Deep subject matter expertise and demonstrated thought leadership in marketing technology, with a focus on personalization, marketing automation and customer data platforms
  • Strong background in agile and experience managing product managers and product owners within agile and NWoW environments
  • Multiple year experience in successfully managing and delivering marketing technology platform implementations
  • Multiple year experience managing large-scale vendor relationships and contract negotiations
  • Strong people/project leadership and demonstrated ability to influence and partner closely with multiple teams to drive outcomes and change in a large matrixed organization
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders across the organization, making recommendations, and delivering executive updates
  • Exceptional business and financial acumen with the ability to build business cases and demonstrate value of technology investments in driving business outcomes
  • Self-starter, highly organized, and able to effectively work independently, as well as part of a team and across functional and levels of the organization
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills at all organizational levels, with the ability to frame complex technical concepts in a way that promotes deeper understanding among stakeholders
  • Ideally experience with Adobe Experience Cloud products and implementations

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $201,900.00 to $273,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
