Shipper (Project Management)
Ensures orders are picked, delivery documents are prepared and trucks are loaded for delivery to vendors. Helps oversee and maintain inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Picks orders and prepares paperwork within system prior to loading onto trucks. Loads trucks and avoids product damage whenever possible. Ensures a neat and organized freezer at all times. Rotates product as needed to ensure safe and proper storage and to minimize damages. May also occasionally require driving the company van. Follows all federal, state and local regulations including DOT, OSHA, and FDA rules. Maintains detailed records and prepares communications, documents and reports as needed. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed. Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to his/her supervisor or in their absence the QA Manager. Complies with all Safety, GMPs and Food Safety Policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.
Education, Training and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of shipping, receiving or warehousing experience. Minimum 2 years of tow motor experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
Must be proficient in math. Experience with shipping software systems and use of intranet and internet. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to read and write shipping documents and business correspondence. High degree of initiative and independent judgment. Ability to express self effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
Certifications, Licenses, registrations
Tow Motor License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with UPS shipping system (UPS Worldship).

Majority of time spent standing to perform job duties. Nature of work requires ability to hear and communicate at normal speaking levels, depth perception, normal vision, and normal finger dexterity. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. independently. May require occasional evening and weekend hours as business needs demand. Requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.

Majority of work performed on shipping and receiving dock or in freezers. Regular exposure to food products, packaging materials, hazardous chemicals, above normal levels of noise, heat, humidity & cold. Requires use of personal protective or safety equipment.
