Software Engr II (Finance)



As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing innovative software solutions that enhance security systems. You will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge technology that meets the evolving needs of our customers.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Pittsford, NY location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Honeywell's Security and Access Solutions business provides high-value security products and services that are critical for buildings around the globe. Building operators and security teams across dynamically evolving verticals depend on our mobile- and cloud-enabled technologies for access control, intrusion detection, and locking solutions to help create safer and more efficient facilities.

You will be joining one of our newest and most strategic initiatives to build a cloud-based software-as-a-service unified security solution supporting access control, video, and monitoring capabilities. As part of the engineering team, you will work in a continuous delivery environment and contribute to features that directly impact our customers daily.

You will participate in feature planning and design sessions, implement software solutions, assist with test plans and documentation, and maintain those solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong functional programming skills.As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing innovative software solutions that enhance security systems.   • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Working knowledge of the JavaScript language and functional programming
  • Experience building on RESTful web services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

WE VALUE
  • A strong portfolio or GitHub profile showcasing front-end development experience
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and serverless architecture
  • Experience with JavaScript technologies including Node.js, React, and Cucumber
  • Familiarity with continuous integration practices, unit testing, and automated integration testing
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, network security, automation tools, and system analysis
  • Experience building scalable solutions with zero-downtime deployment
  • Experience with low-voltage hardware and device communication

  • Work with senior engineers, UX designers, security engineers, and product owners to deliver features directly to both internal and external customers
  • Leverage persona-based development to ensure our products are meeting customers' needs
  • Write code to support product features, test automation, infrastructure, and deployment
  • Participate in peer review to both share and receive feedback
  • Design, develop, test, and demo as needed withing a delivery team

BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR HONEYWELL

The annual base salary range for this position is $97,600- $121,800. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
