Environmental and Safety Manager (Finance)

Position Overview

This key position is responsible for developing and managing our safety programs and environmental strategy.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions).

  • Communicate and promote safety and environmental initiatives
  • Coach supervisors on safety and environmental compliance and best practices
  • Promote employee engagement
  • Promote Human Performance principals
  • Participate in safety calls and Event Learning Teams (ELT)
  • Oversee safety and environmental inspections of facilities and job sites to measure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Ensure timely reporting and investigation of all accidents
  • Provide guidance on WC/AL/GL claims
  • Track and report on leading and lagging safety metrics
  • Coordinate business functions with the appropriate regulatory agencies to ensure that all required permitting is in place, and that permit limitations are compatible with business needs
  • Identify and prioritize potential environmental risks and develop appropriate control and/or abatement mechanisms
  • Build relationships with regulatory agencies

Additional Responsibilities.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) from a college or university, three to five years of field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skill

  • Ability to read, analyze, and apply Federal, State, and Local statutes, interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
