FALL 2021 AMP Internship (Finance)
Attend AMP activities in the community with the facilitator & youth
Attend AMP Mini-Conferences & Minicamps with AMP Staff /youth
Assist the AMP facilitator during council meetings and participate in youth activities
Research and plan activities for AMP council meetings
Extra hands and extra supervision for the youth
Sharing talents and interests with youth
Assist in locating donors who will provide snacks/meals for council meetings
Other responsibilities based on needs

Make connections with other professionals in the nonprofit sector.
Learn more about foster care & adoption from a youth perspective.
Engaging young people ages 13-20 in preparing for adulthood.
Casual dress code, fun team, and the opportunity to learn youth engagement skills.
What WE are looking for:
Preference given to those knowledgeable about the Iowa foster care system.
Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and take initiative.
Must be able to join in activities and express a "can-do" attitude.
Must believe in empowering youth to succeed and sharing positive life experiences.
Interest in young adults experiencing "out of home" placements, and YSS' mission.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have healthy boundaries and be safety-minded
All majors are accepted. The following majors are preferred: Human Services and related fields.
Training, Supervision, and Benefits:
This is an unpaid internship
Attend Prevention trainings & events when supervisor recommends.
Bi-monthly meetings with supervisor; more meetings will be held if needed.
Mandatory Reporter training and CPR/First Aid training must be completed
Time Commitment/Requirements:
Must be 19 years or older.
Individual must have access to reliable transportation
Must report hours' weekly
Working hours can include days, nights and weekends - AMP staff hours are not regular
