Central to Urban's mission is fostering a truly inclusive community that ensures ongoing relevance to a changing world. The Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population seeks a training and technical assistance (TTA) coordinator to join our expanding apprenticeship TTA practice.
The new team member will support the design and delivery of tailored technical assistance on projects aimed to expand and support apprenticeship efforts in the United States. This includes the management of communities of practice for nonprofit, private, and public sector stakeholders to increase their capacity, foster information exchange and engagement, drive better practice through the translation of evidence and research, and advance improved outcomes for communities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in engaging directly with external partners and a dedicated team at Urban to support the expansion of US apprenticeship and related work-based learning opportunities across the nation.
Urban offers a hybrid work environment and this position has the option to work remotely (outside of the Washington, DC metropolitan area).
Work with a variety of external stakeholders, including public sector partners, and nonprofit and business leaders, to identify and develop evidence-based TTA approaches that meet the needs and goals of partners
Contribute to TTA planning in the short- and long-term: help to set team goals, develop work plans, track workflows, monitor deadlines, and support the achievement of milestones on specific TTA activities
Contribute to the facilitation of virtual and in-person TTA through different formats (e.g., webinars, individualized 1:1 TA, peer learning, and coaching sessions) and levels of intensity to build capacity and foster information exchange and engagement
Work with colleagues to coordinate TTA activities and meet project goals
Assist in the development of meeting agendas and help facilitate effective internal and external meetings through diligent pre-meeting planning and the engagement of relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with Urban's internal subject matter experts and external partners to ensure TTA leverages and helps translate data, evidence, best practices
Contribute to the development of products and resources that distill and translate TTA lessons learned to the field and transfer knowledge among community of practice members, including drafting sections of reports, briefs, blogs, and other publications
Support team responses to business development opportunities, particularly opportunities with technical assistance components
Contribute to project management, including monitoring and managing budgets, processing invoices, and other tasks to ensure responsible stewardship of project resources

The successful applicant will have:
At least two to three years of experience either working in a TTA role, supporting the management of communities of practice, or working within a policy or social service organization in which responsibilities included substantial engagement with stakeholders, such as government entities, nonprofit organizations, employers and/or industry groups to build their capacity
Experience supporting the design and delivery of training and technical assistance through different approaches and strong problem-solving skills
Ability to understand moderately complex social science research content and/or evaluation methods in order to effectively support collaborations between cliesnts/partners and Urban subject matter experts
Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to support relationships with multiple partners at high levels, as well as experience supporting complex projects where client needs and work products may quickly evolve
Strong interest in racial and socioeconomic equity and addressing structural racism as a cross-cutting issue; experience in the areas of education, economic development, or workforce development a plus
Strong organizational ability, and a knack for managing competing priorities and multiple processes
Ability to adapt to changes in work assignments, deadlines, and project management styles; willingness to adjust team roles and responsibilities to achieve results
Ability to support the design and execution of hybrid events (virtual and in-person) and willingness to travel for direct engagement with external partners as conditions permit
It's anticipated that the successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in education, public policy, nonprofit management, economic policy, a related field, or they will have demonstrated experience in a role with transferrable skills, such as organizational development, consulting, or conflict resolution. The target salary range for this position is Min $52,112- Mid $69,247 – Max $85,672. Salary offered is commensurate with experience and considers internal equity.
