Summer Intern -SEO Marketing (Creative Design)

Job Summary

This role will support the Digital Marketing team in implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices to improve site traffic. Will evaluate and report on blog entries that perform well and ensure existing content meets SEO best practices. Research industry trends for hot keywords, industry highlights, and label existing content that matches those terms. Will learn to use industry-led tools like Moz, Wordpress, and Google Analytics. This role reports to the Sr. Digital Marketing Manager.

Essential Functions

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review and evaluate website content for SEO optimization
• Apply HTML Tags wherever they are necessary. For example SEO Titles, SEO Descriptions, alt text for images, Headers, and others using Wordpress.
• Identify existing time-bound content that can be repurposed
• Research industry-related keywords and work with the team to implement them into the blog
• Create analytics reports from research findings
• Clean up backlinks and find new opportunities to build backlinks for existing content
• Audit existing content to ensure they follow brand guidelines
• Identify any uncategorized content in WP
• Research competing organizations for keyword opportunities and content gaps
• Identify outdated content on the website
• Perform other related projects assigned

Education and Experience:

• Currently enrolled in college or a recent college graduate
• Broad range of skills and/or knowledge of online and search engine marketing.

Skills & Other Requirements:

• Knowledge of and ability to learn Google Analytics and moz.com.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication
• Bonus experience and skills include Adobe Creative Suite and blogging.
• Experience in various Microsoft Office Suite software applications
• Familiarity with content creation for digital platforms is strongly desired.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work independently
