Director Design & Configuration Mgmt -N (Architecture)



Introduction to AM General

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • BSME or equivalent experience.
  • Min. 20 years' experience in 3D CAD modeling and packaging
  • Broad military vehicle packaging and integration experience including HFE, Powertrain, Chassis, Armor, Body, Electrical
  • Diverse knowledge of CAD based 3D modeling systems
  • Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems configuration management, Teamcenter, Windchill, SAP
  • Working knowledge of military specifications and standards, MIL-STD-31000, MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1366, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SAE standards for vehicle design and engineering
  • Ability to coordinate the integration and training of CAD software(s) data creation standards, and supporting configuration management processes and procedures
  • Ability to estimate cost and maintain budget for full vehicle platform integration
  • Ability to lead various groups under contractual requirements
  • Ability to concurrently provide oversite of multiple programs
  • Serve as an interface and point of contact with Government program authorities, for contractual requirements
  • Coordinates communication between program leadership and other functional groups, and resolves issues regarding configuration management
  • Security Clearance is preferred

PRINCIPLE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides oversite for systems engineering efforts pertaining to design and configuration management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with various stakeholders by communicating project status, issues, and next steps
  • Coordinates estimating, staffing, meetings, and timing plans for contractual deliverables
  • Monitors progress to help ensure configured releases are delivered in a timely manner and meet expectations
  • Helps define content and roll out plans for CAD/drawing and TDP releases
  • Helps identify all applicable stakeholders per release, notifies, communicates, and manages expectations as required, during the planning for program releases
  • Provides continuous improvement for management operating systems of Design, and Configuration Management

Travel Requirements:

   Occasional Travel will be required.
