Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer located in Columbia, SC.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager the Manufacturing Engineer role involves designing, deploying, launching, and sustaining manufacturing production lines for industrial equipment, machinery, and power equipment.  The Manufacturing Engineer will work on the production floor as needed to ensure our products are produced safely, at the highest quality, delivered on time, and while maximizing efficiency.   

What a typical day looks like:

  • Design, deploy, launch, and sustain manufacturing production lines for industrial equipment, machinery, and power equipment.   
  • Will develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods / detailed visual work instructions.  
  • Will be responsible for identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements to improve productivity, workmanship, and overall quality of the product.
  • Will support implementing manufacturing procedures per customer specifications ECN-Engineering Change Notices. 
  • Will develop, organize, and update manufacturing work areas, material flow, documentation and system setups for new products and features.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering required
  • Experience in developing Manufacturing Procedures, shop floor system setups, and evaluation/purchase of assembly equipment and tools.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements to improve productivity, workmanship, and overall quality of the product
  • Experience in Lean Kaizen activities
  • Knowledge of MRP and Shop Floor Manufacturing systems
  • Individual must be a quick learner and be effective at working in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Web based tools such as Frontpage and HTML
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, design drawings and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Medical Industry experience
