Community and Business Development Manager (Finance)

Our Community and Business Development manager is responsible for managing and leading the Business Development and Community Engagement team initiatives that showcase Blue's brand to increase positive reputation and reach while enhancing brand awareness in the communities we serve and plan to serve. In addition, leading the BD Branch Ambassador program and Chamber partnerships in maximizing exposure and return on investments. This includes developing, managing, implementing, and measuring Blue's unique community connector model ROI with quarterly updates. In addition, participate in the strategic process that facilitates communication and interaction. Work with the VP and Director on the sponsorship and support between Blue and other organizations (Sponsorships for Blue and the Blue Foundation). Identifies opportunities to apply for significant and prestigious awards (CEO/CU of the year and more) that ultimately elevate Blue globally. Manage all community partner relationships (5 Anchors and SEGs) in Wyoming and Colorado while retaining and leveraging long-term relationships with established community partners.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute Blue's unique community connector model. Lead on partnerships representing the credit union in all aspects of business development and community engagement, including identifying opportunities to increase organization-wide engagement and strengthen the brand and reputation of the credit union. Collaborates with centers of influence in the community (50% Wyoming and 50% Colorado). Identify and build relationships with community partners and companies to collaborate in finding solutions involved in supporting community development needs. Works to refine, develop and track referral pipeline for specialty products/services that support partner initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to tell the 'Blue' story to SEGS, Business partners, 5 anchors, and Chamber Connections throughout Blue's geographic footprint. Tells Blue's story through business partnerships and community engagement activities, making sure to showcase our passions and causes while applying for awards to achieve #1, Best of the Best, Favorite, et al. status. Has high degree of latitude to work autonomously on exponential ideas to take leaps, especially from strategy to execution.
  • Act as the credit union liaison to the Blue Foundation. Provides resources, plans and leads activities of the Blue Foundation. This includes all Foundation Fundraising, Board communication, annual meeting, and monthly reports. Manages the Community Engagement Specialist to facilitate the Foundation donation and grant requests in a timely manner. Manage Foundation specific outreach activities which include Thankful Thursday, Golf Tournaments, and Scholarships. Research and execute new donation plans to continue growing the Foundation's giving ability. Represent the Foundation at regional events to spread exposure and knowledge about its mission and tie in with Blue Federal Credit Union. Oversee the monthly accounting and manages all Foundation accounts for accuracy and fiscal responsibility. Sends communication to all Foundation members when needed.
  • Lead and support the branch ambassador program, working with an individual in each branch to co-support events in their community.
  • Oversees community engagement events with a goal to increase awareness of Blue within all our communities. Assign tasks and projects to the BCE team as needed. Report on campaign results and track the influence of community engagement activities. Report on success and areas needing improvement within the department, as determined by the VP of Business and Community Engagement. Review proposals and prepare summaries for applicable Board, executive, or director reports. Assist in managing sensitive issues to maintain Blue's reputation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participates in various outside functions that promote the credit union to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and build profitable, long-term relationships.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Five to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Skills in advanced software programs including: Microsoft Office Suite Thorough understanding of Kadence - Software for donation tracking and reporting Able to organize groups of people for events and initiatives Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously and produce the desired results. Previous community engagement or business development experience and the ability to be flexible in dealing with changing priorities. Previous management experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree in business, marketing, or communications required.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

FULL TIME POSITION

Starting Range: $62,342.04 - $69,763.72

Full Range: $59,373.38 - $89,060.07

Physical Requirements

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
