Corporate Human Resources Manager (Finance)

The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI's overall total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match and a full suite of benefit offerings for you and your family.

This role's responsibility as a Human Resource subject matter expert to support both corporate team members and the North America facility Human Resource teams regarding the interpretation and expertise within HR policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and other established Company practices and procedures. The Corporate HR Manager will be the primary owner of the Company's Employee Relations case management system by either leading direction or conducting investigations. This role partners with facility HR Managers to identify, analyze, and develop strategic solutions to team member related business issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.


  • Subject matter expert on the interpretation and application of established employment policies, procedures, and practices; identify opportunities for change and make appropriate recommendations or draft proposed improvements on HR policies and procedures.


  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with corporate and facility HR staff as well as line management.


  • Work collaboratively to resolve team member issues that arise due to policy interpretations, procedural issues, job performance concern, time off matters, harassment concerns, and other related issues.


  • Investigate employee complaints, either assigned through the case management system or received directly from employees, thoroughly and timely; interview complainants and witnesses, review records, document activities, evaluate validity of statements, recommend action, and respond to complainants with conclusions.


  • Manage and lead HR compliance for background/drug screen and I-9 governance.


  • Lead and provide collaboration with the facility HR teams on HR Corporate compliance initiatives including but not limited to unemployment, WOTC, verifications, and I-9 audits.


  • Provide routine and ad hoc reports and analysis to HR leadership and facility HR staff on employment and labor trends, investigation statuses, contingent labor, employment status, talent management programs and other related issues.


  • Administer, support, and provide analysis for talent management programs and HR initiatives that require field implementation and facilitation to ensure adherence to standards and consistency in application.


  • Maintain up to date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures required to ensure compliance.


  • This role has the responsibility to understand and place in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in related field is preferred.


  • 5 years of HR Business partner/Manager practice in a manufacturing environment is preferred.


  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.


  • Strong Working knowledge of Human Resource disciplines, including benefits, employee relations, and talent management practices.


  • Related experience in a unionized environment with understanding of collective bargaining agreements.


  • Demonstrated experience in providing proactive and practical solutions to human resource concerns.


  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems, develop alternative solutions, and recommend and implement an effective course of action.


  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with highly sensitive and confidential information.


  • Ability to influence and build relationships both within and outside the organization.


  • Communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings and foster an open, honest, and trusting environment; facilitates participation from others.


  • Effective project management skills for managing HR projects with multiple resources, tasks, milestones, and deliverables.


  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law.


  • Ability to influence decision makers.


  • Bilingual is a plus.

Education

  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.


  • HR certification is a plus. (SHRM or HRCI)

Work Environment

  • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.


  • Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment.


  • This role requires 30% domestic travel.


  • Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds


  • Position may require frequent and/or infrequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.


  • Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
