WATER PRACTICE
Michael Baker International's Water Group provides innovative consulting, planning and engineering solutions for the entire spectrum of the water cycle. We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services. Protection and management of water resources starts at the watershed level and follows the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
DESCRIPTION
Our Surface Water team is seeking an individual who can quickly move into the role of Deputy Project Manager (DPM) on multiple projects with the aim of growing into a Project Manager role. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for leadership, a strong sense of ownership, and natural communication skills. (S)He will work closely with existing Project Managers to oversee project staff and deliver projects per agreed to plan, budget, program and quality. (S)He will lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team; provide technical direction to staff; check work and progress and identify changes of scope and additional services.
The successful candidate will grow their internal and external networking skills with an aim to cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships as well as assisting in proposal development and strategic planning, with movement toward being a visible and active member of the Surface Water community through professional organization involvement.
The Water Resources DPM will guide and co-manage projects in the following disciplines: stream channel restoration design, ecosystem restoration, watershed assessments, watershed planning studies, water supply planning, storm water/drainage way master plans, storm drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping studies, and flood control.
