Parts Coordinator / Production Laborer - Castlewood, VA (Manufacturing)

Summary

The Parts Coordinator will work in conjunction with the Site Manager & Maintenance Department to research, order, inventory, stock and organize all needed and necessary parts to support the sites' needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Purchasing

  • Submit purchase orders via the site admin for all items and services purchased with company accounts.
  • Maintain adequate spare parts inventory for critical and commonly used items. This will require reviewing inventory & usage reports and periodically counting items in the parts room as needed.
  • Order plant maintenance supplies and parts. This will require considerable research to identify unknown parts using various internet sites and communicating directly with vendors. Pricing should be compared from several vendors prior to purchasing to obtain lowest price possible utilizing CRH/Oldcastle National Account Pricing.
  • Research / resolve invoice pricing discrepancies with vendor.
  • Ensure that all purchases follow proper accounting processes, starting with a quote, then PO#, then delivery slips handed in once parts arrive for proper AP processing.
  • Ensure that commonly used vendors are set up as OC suppliers before conducting business.

Receiving

  • Verify items and quantities match the vendors packing slips before handing into Admin.
  • Sign off on documentation and delivery paperwork to the main office.
  • Tag parts and restock the parts room based on usage.

Work Orders

  • Open/Close completed maintenance work orders using Maintenance Connect.
  • This will require follow up questions with maintenance personal to ensure accurate information and parts usage.

Parts Rooms

  • Keep area clean and organized.
  • Maintain sign-out sheet for all parts.
  • Sort and organize using parts tagging systems.
  • Label shelving for machine specific parts areas for easier locating.

Special Projects

  • Candidate will be involved in special projects throughout the site as assigned by Site Manager to assist with potential future installs, tear downs, Cap-Ex project organization, and compliance areas. This may include but not limited to hands-on teamwork with site personnel, operating equipment as trained, and project specific risk assessment.

Requirements / Education / Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to lift up to 65 lbs
  • Strong computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook necessary.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic components.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and parts list.
  • Ability to operate forklift when needed.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Connect Computer System a plus, but we will train the right candidate.
