Get to Know This Role
The Sierra Nevada Retail Lead is responsible for daily operations and coordination of the on-site Gift Shop. The expectations of the Retail Lead are based around the successful daily operations of the Retail Team, by maintaining focused and consistent technical training and coaching. This position requires excellent communication skills and models a high level of engagement by creating and maintaining a work environment consistent with company and department goals and values. The Retail Lead is also responsible for the development of retail programs. The Retail Lead will oversee retail merchandising to align with monthly brand focuses and communicate retail sales trends. Reporting to the Retail Supervisor, this role serves as a brand ambassador for the company and is responsible for engaging and connecting with visitors and guests in our Sierra Nevada Gift Shop. The position sets the pace in welcoming, greeting guests, stocking and selling merchandise, and serves as a role model for Sierra Standards through their presence on the Gift Shop floor. In addition, the Retail Lead will contribute to Gift Shop daily operations, supporting the Retail Operations Coordinator and Retail Supervisor directly.
What You Will Do
Welcomes and greets guests; answers general customer questions about the brewery including the history of Sierra Nevada and our portfolio of brands. Role models high level of engagement with our Sierra Nevada guests, both internal and external
Coordinates cross-departmental collaboration for marketing alignment and product release support; stocks merchandise accordingly.
Key role in overseeing the execution and follow-through of on-boarding new Retail Team Members, certification training, Guest Experience curriculum, and ongoing Retail Team education.
Provide direction and delegation of daily work schedules for the Retail Team, including breaks and meal periods. Develops schedule suggestions and alternatives to support retail volume and guest patterns.
Participate in sensory for ongoing training and development
Exhibit effective communication rooted in company values with all Guest Experience team members and cross functional department teams.
Responsible for maintaining brand standards and organization in the Gift Shop.
Operates computerized cash register and Point of Sale (POS) system.
Collaborates with Operations Coordinator and Retail team to follow Gift Shop sales trends and maintain product stock and inventory levels.
Serves as a role model for operational excellence and serves in strong support role for entire Gift Shop Department.

2 years Cash Handling required
2 years Retail and/or customer service experience required
6 months Point of Sale system/computer experience preferred
Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, sound decisions in a dynamic work environment
Ability to be welcoming, enthusiastic and energetic in communicating with guests
Ability to prioritize work, quickly and seamlessly shifting gears when necessary
Desire and ability to learn and communicate the Sierra Nevada brand story and product portfolio
Proven ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work collaboratively in an environment that values creativity and flexibility
Self-motivated and energetic
Excellent organization and verbal and written communication skills
Solid, practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office platform, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher
