Business Systems Analyst & Quality Assurance Coordinator (Finance)

Job Description Summary:
Identify, define, and document business processes and requirements to execute technology projects and changes. Serve as a liaison between business and technology teams. Lead a program to ensure the high-quality delivery of new and modified products and services.

Job Description:

General Responsibilities

  • Build relationships throughout the company that will assist with understanding business needs and challenges.
  • Serve as a bridge between business and technology teams, analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of relevant business area(s) to be able to recommend solutions, build high-quality requirements, and coordinate testing.
  • Constantly look for ways to improve business processes and quality assurance.
  • Support delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Business System Analysist SPECIFIC

  • Use a variety of techniques to understand business requirements, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.
  • Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting alternatives.
  • Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
  • Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements.
  • Review requested system changes and develops detailed specifications for implementation. Communicates system changes and issues at all levels
  • Create documentation as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documentation, process flows and training materials.
  • Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted.

Quality Assurance SPecific

  • Oversees the technology Quality Assurance Program. Develop, implement and manage test schedule and strategy.
  • Defines scope and objectives of the Quality Assurance program. Participate in and is responsible for functional, regression, and user acceptance.
  • Develop templates, training and support materials and provide training and support to Product and Project team members involved in the quality assurance process.
  • Coordinates groups of business personnel who test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications, and identify issues in software or services.
  • Develop test plans and test cases; coordinate test automation, and report results.
  • Document, track and analyze test results; recommend corrective action and verify fixes.
  • Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex features, e.g., those that span across platforms or teams.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce testing time and effort by automating repeatable tests.
  • Define and champion quality and testing best practices among development teams.
  • Collaborate and share information with QA engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews of functional requirements, analyzing for testability
  • Engage with customers as needed to provide guidance, review designs, collaborate on test scenarios, define user acceptance criteria or help isolate problems
  • Define set of data in preparation for execution of test case.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated positive team attitude and ability to interact with diplomacy and tact with internal and external business process partners.
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate work efforts
  • Excellent English verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills and an ability to influence senior leaders and peers.
  • Experience determining the explicit and implicit requirements of various stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly learn the objectives and operations of a new business area.
  • Effective problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills; can see underlying or hidden problems and patterns; looks beyond the obvious
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify, isolate and document defects.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent years of experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis and quality assurance.
  • Travel to divisions and jobsites as necessary across the company.
