Pre- Industrial Engineering Intern (Finance)
Full Time during Winter Break
Full-Time during Summer Break
Part-Time during Spring Semester availability as well.
Entry level position responsible preparing motor sub-assemblies, final assemblies, electronic, electrical, and mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies and after assemblies in their entirety.
Ideal candidates are Freshmen or Sophomore students entered into an Engineering Bachelor's degree. Selected candidates would be considered for Engineering Internships upon successful completion of Sophomore-year Engineering courses and this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work under the general direction of the department supervisor with a minimum of supervision.
Under specific direction from Supervisor or Lead Person performs motor sub-assembly, assembly and after assembly utilizing individual electronic, electrical and mechanical components.
This position will be responsible for product quality as well as production quantity.
This position may receive specific direction from a Product Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer.
This position will require the Assembler to use calibrated measuring equipment in the normal performance of their job such as, but not limited to, the following; calipers, plug gauges, drop indicators, force gauges, torque measuring screwdrivers, oscilloscope, dial gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, and specially designed PMT manufactured measuring equipment.
Under specific instruction, assembles individual electronic, electrical and mechanical components as required from the specific engineering bill of material to produce sub-assemblies, final motor assemblies and after assemblies.
Utilizes manual hydraulic, air presses, and electric presses, balancing machine, magnet charger, oscilloscope, encoder testers puma, soldering equipment, desoldering equipment, digital volt meter and other test equipment.
Assembles individual motor parts and components to produce final motor assemblies.
Operate motor run-in equipment.
Prepares individual assemblies.
Form leads, terminals and lead wire assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Assemble encoders, brakes, pulleys, lead assemblies to finished motors. Solders individual electrical and electronic components into sub-assemblies, after assemblies and final assemblies.
The position requires the use of light hand assembly tools.
Final test motor.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
1 year completed of engineering or pre-engineering college level coursework preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude required
This position requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity.
This position requires the ability to lift 20+ lbs. occasionally, 10-20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
This position may require standing/sitting for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
Additional Characteristics:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
