Facility Maintenance Person (Maintenance)

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN STOCKTON.

POSITION SUMMARY 

Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds.  Handles administrative duties associated with building maintenance reporting requirements by performing the following duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • HVAC and basic maintenance troubleshooting experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and installation, with knowledge of 120v.-480v. circuits, single and three phase in a commercial/industrial environment with NFPA70E knowledge.
  • Electrical controls troubleshooting and repair.
  • Installation and repair of steel, copper, and PVC pipe fittings.
  • Responsible for complete environmental disposal procedures and record keeping.
  • Operation of small machines such as backhoe, skid steer, scissor lift, and forklift.
  • Primary responsibility for ground maintenance activities such as trimming hedges, removing weeds, lawn mowing, irrigation system repair, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Responsible for operation and upkeep of wash rack and filter system when required
  • Operates fresh and wastewater treatment equipment with complete understanding of system.
  • Documents inspections and treatment of water supply system.
  • Handles set up of conference room tables and chairs.
  • Moves office furniture and computer equipment.
  • Performs custodian duties as needed.
  • May be required to drive to other locations and perform similar duties.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Experience with carpentry, painting, plumbing, roll up doors, and air and lubrication systems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 High school or GED or four years of maintenance related experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

 Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV report.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be qualified to enter respirator safety program and occasionally work wearing respirator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

COMPENSATION

 Hourly rate of pay as negotiated with Operating Engineers, Local #3. Excellent company-paid benefits including medical, dental, retirement, vacations and holidays.
