Deposit Services Associate (Finance)



Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Shift: M-F 8am-5pm with an occasional 9am-6pm and a rotating Saturday 9am-12pm
Job Schedule: Full-Time

About the Role
Supports day-to-day deposit operations by resolving routine account discrepancies, processing stop payments and deposit holds, and monitoring for basic fraud indicators. Ensures accurate documentation and compliance while providing foundational support for account servicing and fraud prevention.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Researches and resolves account discrepancies, including waiving fees, ownership changes, account type modifications, fee adjustments, and check ordering for deposit operations.
  • Processes and monitors stop payments, and deposit holds on deposit accounts, ensuring accurate execution of client requests and adherence to bank policies for check and ACH transactions.
  • Reviews fraud alerts report to identify unusual activity, escalating potential fraud cases in accordance with established procedures.
  • Scans and indexes account documentation for secure retention in the bank's imaging system.
  • Monitors ATM and remote deposit activity to detect irregular or potentially fraudulent transactions, ensuring timely escalation of suspicious patterns.
  • Maintains accurate records and ensures compliance with internal controls, audits, and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Applies solid understanding of numerical concepts. Analyzes discrepancies, identifies root causes, and implements solutions.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams, external vendors, and customers.
  • Builds positive working relationships and contributes to a collaborative team environment.
  • Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple responsibilities. Handles high volumes of data and transactions while maintaining accuracy.
  • Exhibits a high level of accuracy and precision when reviewing or processing information.
  • Basic knowledge of banking principles is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer use with the ability to navigate standard office software and digital tools effectively is preferred.
