Truck Lead (Construction)
Stay in contact and communicate with drivers.
Ensure on time delivery for shipments.
Ensure all load tickets, and paperwork is filled out correctly, turned in daily or weekly, and all documents are in order.
Maintain awareness of Drivers movements through regular communication and to manage and adapt to delays and/or issues on the road.
Coordinate changes made to operational plan (in real time) with Drivers and customers to ensure all stakeholders are aware of updates.
Manage accident coordination such as instructions for drug and alcohol testing, towing, clean-up, re-power, load coordination and reporting.
Establishes contingency plans for driver illness, breakdowns, schedule changes.
Administers all new hire training, re-training, and compliance training.
Manages or assists in matters relating to Workers Compensation, Drug & Alcohol, Employee Assistance Program, Workforce Program and Light Duty to ensure agency's compliance and employee concerns are handled in a timely manner.
Partners with the Heavy Equipment Shop Manager to coordinate all fleet repairs and driver schedules. Relay all mechanical concerns for any truck or equipment.
Conduct daily Safety meetings to ensure compliance is being met and proper PPE is available and being utilized correctly by all employees.
Conduct driver's quarterly performance reviews and safety meetings.
Must be completed in an organized manner so records can be pulled upon request.
Address and resolve drivers' personnel issues, including disciplinary actions.
Ensure a safe working environment and equipment for drivers, including, but not limited to, ensuring drivers are complying with applicable federal, state, and local safety laws and requirements.
Interview and hire Commercial Drivers in partnership with Human Resource Manager.

Essential functions
Address any safety violations or other deficiencies.
Monitor driver activity throughout the day to ensure deliveries are completed, productivity and safety measures are achieved, and any and all issues are resolved before the end of the day.
Maintain and create a safety-driven culture for all company vehicles and drivers through different internal investigations and meetings to determine root causes of any transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures.
Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and attend to detail.

Monitor all transportation activities to ensure FMCSA and DOT compliance for all Drivers and Vehicles (Hours of Service, and GVWR)
Works with Human Resources Compliance Staff to maintain all Driver Qualification Files, Medical & License Expirations, etc.
Manage multi-site activities including performance, safety, compliance in accordance with company goals and DOT regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Perform routine safety checks on the equipment (seat belt, fire extinguisher, lights, etc.) to ensure equipment is working properly and safely.
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions; communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and the public effectively.

Required education and experience
Experience working with Payroll and attendance systems.
Strong PC skills including MS Office, Word, and Excel.
2-5 years' experience in supervision role and responsibility.
Preferred education and experience
High School education or equivalent (Preferred)

Additional eligibility requirements:
Must have a valid commercial Class A driver's license.
Clean Driving Record: 5 years (Required).
Must pass pre-employment Drug Screen.
