Stock Plan Senior Administrator - Remote (738549) (Legal)

As the Stock Plan Sr Administrator, you will be responsible for administering the Company's equity compensation plans and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Additionally, this role will provide comprehensive consultative and analytical guidance to employees, management, and HR in the areas of idea generation, design, management and implementation of divisional and company-wide compensation programs and processes. This role requires compensation and equity knowledge to provide effective guidance and solutions to the business, both complex and routine in nature. This position will be a respected partner with the business and HR. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Global Equity Compensation Plan Administration:

  • Process and maintain equity plans and grant documentation, and administer all grants, exercises, releases, cancellations, terminations and any other equity compensation-based transactions under the Company's equity compensation plans
  • Administer the Employee Stock Purchase Plan, including semi-annual enrollment and purchases
  • Manage vendor relationships, identify issues, advise on system updates, and serve as the Company's primary contact for equity compensation data and transactions
  • Answer employee inquiries regarding their stock option, restricted stock unit (RSU), ESPP and book entry accounts
  • Assist the Company's stockholders with any stock-related issues (such as lost certificates, lost dividend checks, etc.)

 Assist Compensation with the following:

  • Responsible for providing comprehensive consultative and analytical guidance to employees, management and HR in the idea generation, design, management and implementation of divisional and company-wide compensation programs and processes.
  • Serves as an experienced resource and trusted consultant/ analyst to HR and management in the development of effective compensation strategies, processes and programs, whether for an individual, group, Division or Company-wide.
  • Develops and delivers training programs, materials, resources and management tools to facilitate the implementation and practice of Gannett compensation programs.
  • Implements and administers cyclical compensation review processes and influences managers to achieve compensation objectives.
  • Manages compensation related projects as assigned, including but not limited to: compensation structure reviews and updates; market pricing analysis; job classification analysis; administration of long-term incentives, typical in the form of stock; creation of new incentive plans; updating and evaluating existing incentive plans; integration activities related to mergers and acquisitions; and other projects as needed.

Other Duties

  • Provide research and analytical support for ad hoc requests and projects
  • Keep current of relevant stock plan administration rules and regulations and proposed changes
  • Work closely with Payroll to provide payroll adjustments for tax withholding and year-end tax reporting
  • Collaborate with the Human Resource and Legal departments on equity compensation activities

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 5+ years' prior experience in a relevant corporate area (e.g., stock plan administration, legal, finance or human resources)
  • Advanced knowledge of laws, trends and developments in compensation, including relevant best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems (reporting, maintenance, etc.); Ceridian experience a plus
  • World@Work membership, CCP certification or course work a plus
  • Experience working for a large company and or a public company a plus
