Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed dimensional inspection on all internal manufacturing operations.
Perform performance testing.
Complete work orders, defective material reports, data processing move transactions and first article reports as required.
Communicate with department supervision as necessary.
May work in areas such as gauge lab final inspection, shipping, heat treat, and processing, and in-process inspection.
Inspector may be held to established quality standards.
Incumbent will have control to make minor adjustments to the process after tasks are assigned.
Perform 1st Article inspection using appropriate drawings or specifications to verify part acceptability
Perform Dimensional Inspection of all characteristics of manufactured products
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as to and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Intermediate computer skills including electronic mail, MS Word, MS Excel, routine database activity, graphs, etc.
Ability to create part routines for vision microscopes
Must be able to select and utilize general inspection tools
Ability to compare purchase orders with vendor certifications to assure compliance
Essential Knowledge/Skills
Understanding and limited interpretation of work instructions, routers, blue prints, drawings and specifications
Prepare inspection documentation as required by work instructions
Must be able to communicate with multiple departments including; Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, etc.
Must be able to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
Must know how to read blueprints, specifications and be able to use different gages, such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gages, height gages, specs, protrusion blocks, etc.
Basic understanding of Federal Aviation Administration requirements and impacts
Basic understating of MRB disposition for accuracy and acceptability
Special vision required, such as close, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Active involvement in process improvement initiatives
Keep work area clean, safe and in orderly fashion
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred;
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Inspection
