Sustainability Program Specialist - MGT (Finance)
The Sustainability Specialist will provide sustainability and green building expertise for the Board. Provides regular updates to supervisor and to the Facility Services management team on sustainability certification status of capital projects.
Ensures Capital projects are designed and constructed to meet the Board's sustainability requirements. Verifies construction placement and documentation is completed in accordance with plans and specifications. On-site presence in Washington, DC is required to accomplish duties of this position.
Supports senior sustainability specialists in executing the Board's sustainability program. Leads efforts such as data collection and analysis, developing presentations and dashboards, and drafting procurement documents.
Grade FR-26 requires the incumbent to meet the qualifications of the preceding grade in addition to 5 (five) years of specific work experience in sustainability, green building, environmental protection or climate change. Demonstrates the skills necessary to assess sustainability programs, identify areas of opportunity, and develop plans for improvement. Must have experience with the application of LEED BD C on major renovation or new construction projects. Should be adept at setting priorities and allocating resources. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and LEED AP required. Additional sustainability certifications preferred. Experience with Parksmart and WELL Building Standard preferred.
Manages the Board's sustainability program on a daily basis. Gathers information and makes strategic plans to improve the Board's performance in energy usage and sustainability. Information gathered is interpreted, validated, and prioritized with Board partners and translates areas for improvement into viable action plans. Develops and implements these plans by partnering with various entities at the Board.
Assesses areas of weakness in the Board's overall approach to sustainability, energy usage, and green building operations. In concert with other customers in Facility Services and clients at the Board, develops a long term approach and strategy for improvement and help to build that strategy into future renovations and projects undertaken by the Board.
Communicates with all staff levels at the Board. May interact with the public. Assignments generally require frequent contact with senior management. May be required to meet or make high level presentations to Board members or maintain cordial working relationships with staff and officials at the Federal Reserve Banks, federal financial regulatory and other agencies, and/or external organizations. Responds to requests in a timely fashion.
Hybrid work environment to include physical presence on active construction sites, typical office environments, and remote telework.
