Fleet Engineer II (Finance)
Job Description:
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers in maintaining and managing Machinery Management Agreements between Solar and customers. It provides leadership to Solar and customer technicians and operation & maintenance teams to ensure adherence to Solar's recommended maintenance procedures and specifications. Facilitates equipment failure investigations and ensures root-cause analysis is
carried out by appropriate internal or external product support organizations. Compiles and submits engineering reports and analysis to Fleet Managers for review. Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordination of preventative maintenance, site repair and troubleshooting visits by Solar and or supplier representatives. This position also assists Fleet Manager and customers with planning, scheduling and coordination of engine and compressor
overhaul and installations. Fleet Engineer supports FM with alert management, preventative action reports, value tracking and compilation of monthly reports and submission to customers. FE will conduct site condition assessments. Fleet Engineer will be responsible for service bulletin compliance and lead implementation of corrective actions and follow up on pending issues defined within issue tracker. He/she must be well versed in both Solar and customer HSSE management systems. Ensure compliance to the HSSE requirements, best practices and provide overviews to Field Service Representatives and other personnel who will be visiting customer site.
DIMENSIONS
Works independently and provides technical leadership to Solar and customer's maintenance team to ensure maximum availability and reliability of the covered equipment under contract.
Responsible for managing and coordinating equipment failure root cause analysis between various engineering and product support teams. Proactively manage repair and overhaul schedules parts provisioning and mobilization of parts and technician to customer sites. Facilitates connectivity discussion between customer and Solar MMS organizations and assists when needed with site surveys and or installation activities for new projects
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Fleet Engineer provides technical support to one or multiple Fleet Mangers and customers in an ongoing basis and implements machinery management solutions and processes utilizing Solar's InSight System to deliver measurable and value added service. Often working under the guidance of a senior Fleet Manager, the Fleet Engineer is responsible for technical management of the gas turbine packages and regular equipment assessments, failure analsis, fault assessment and repair planning. He/she will provide operation and maintenance recommendations to optimize performance output and meet reliability and availability targets established in contract. Fleet Engineer will provide direction to technical staff including customer and Solar technicians to complete assessments and maintenance of the equipment under contract and helps identify performance or equipment related issues that could be solved with upgrades, retrofits or repairs, which can translate to incremental revenue for the region. This position may be located within the customer organization under Fleet Manager's supervision. Extensive periods working from the customer office and frequent trips to equipment sites will be necessary. Fleet Engineer maybe required to provide direct 'hands on' expertise and troubleshooting guidance to technicians.
