The Director of the Office of International Admissions and Student Services serves as the PDSO (Principal Designated School Official) for the university. Oversees all operations related to Pre-Departure and New International Student Orientation, international admissions, and international advising. Responsible for executing the international recruitment plan and overseeing the prospective communication plan. Supervises 6 full-time staff members. Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistic Act (Clery Act).
Duties:
Assists with Pre-departure Orientation and New International Student Orientation. Oversees Immigration Advising and monitoring for F-1 students and alumni. Serves as the PDSO, overseeing SEVIS compliance for F-1 students and their dependents. Provides guidance regarding federal regulations governing employment, visa processing, maintenance of status, and immigration benefits of foreign nationals among campus stakeholders. Works with other offices on support for international students.
Develops and executes strategic, data-driven recruitment and enrollment strategies for international students. Attends recruitment events. Oversees and assists in developing the communication plan for the office. Analyzes student data for recruitment tracking and enrollment planning to meet goals. Collaborates with Colleges on recruitment. Creates and updates training materials.
Manages the international admission process and the staff of the office. Oversees required documents and transcripts. Uses data to monitor processes and identifies trends and issues affecting enrollment. Serves as liaison for the office with other offices and performs duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Five years experience in admissions, recruitment, counseling and/or international advising in a higher education setting.
Three years of supervisory and Designated School Official (DSO) experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Experience as a PDSO.
Experience using PeopleSoft.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of immigration regulations related to international students.
Knowledge of University policies on admissions and enrollment of international students.
Knowledge of sensitivity to cultural diversity.
Skills in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to communicate clearly, precisely, and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to lead and supervise others.
Ability to prioritize work under strict deadlines and to solve problems or formulate possible solutions.
