JOB PURPOSE Technically focussed member of the solution architects' and pre-sales team with a strong understanding of network management solutions and knowledge of the performance and analytics industry. The role will be to provide technical hands-on project delivery, gap fit analysis of network monitoring requirements, accurate solution designs, and software installation and development of customisations and integrations. Assist in the creation and development of and realistic costing of proposals at the pre-sales stage. To include the pre-sales coverage required in the early, mid, and final stages of the sales process. This is a client facing role requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior executives in prospect accounts within the EMEA and AP region
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Capture and assess client requirements and perform gap/fit analysis against possible solutions
Design, deploy and rollout the network management solution accurately and efficiently
Define, estimate, design, develop and deliver software customisations
Perform on-site system health-checks, resolve operational issues, and provide recommendations on operational best practices
Education of clients, potential clients, and colleagues in the scope, features and operation of our solutions. This includes creating and giving online and onsite presentations and demonstrations
As required, assisting the sales team in creating and running POCs, POVs
Assist the sales team with bids and tenders for new clients, providing a technical perspective and guidance as to suitability of solutions for each client
Coordinate with other technical resources as necessary to provide depth of understanding when required
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the current features and roadmap of our core offerings and associated products
Identify and evaluate new commercial opportunities that arise through advancement in technology or new software offerings
When necessary, support the EMEA and AP sales team in high level meetings with our partners and key Accounts

Working with customers and partners to ensure successful deployments and support

Reporting to the Manager, Solution Architect, Product
Supporting the sales and technical management of the BMC relationship
Supporting the successful partner relationships to secure more business
Supporting the VP Sales in campaigns and marketing activities
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of IT Networks and Networking.
Experience with monitoring solutions for enterprise storage and/or hardware maintenance solutions
A strong understanding of the fundamentals and principles of networking, with the ability to apply that knowledge across a broad spectrum of equipment and vendors
In-depth knowledge of enterprise datacentre technologies e.g. storage, servers, and cloud solutions
Knowledge of Cisco IOS or similar technologies
Knowledge of scripting
Well organised and able to stay focussed when under pressure.
The ability to tackle complex problems and a willingness to always learn
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken with an ability to successfully engage with team members and clients
Technical troubleshooting skills
Aware of monitoring technologies and configuration
Experience of Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux
An ability to read, modify and write software code written using a human-readable programming language e.g., C, C++, C# and Java

Experience of Virtualisation platforms
Experience of Active Directory Services
Experience of SQL databases
Experience of network monitoring protocols (SNMP, ICMP, Syslog, NetFlow)

Understanding of common programming models (client/server, web based, integration)
Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) to manage the end-to-end delivery of IT services to customers
