Utilities MDM Lead Consultant (Finance)
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 7 years of experience in Utilities/Customer Service with Information System.
• At least 5 years of experience in Itron MDM.
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Rosemead, CA or be willing to relocate to the area.
• Experience in Utilities/Customer Service
• Experience in Itron MDM
Preferred Qualifications
• At least 10 years of proven experience as an IT Consultant or similar role in Utilities MDM Lead Consultant
• Experience in Utility domain with understanding of the Meter-to-Cash (M2C) function Customer Self Service, Account Management, Legacy/Smart Metering, Service/ Customer and Print Billing, Credit & Collections
Expertise in AMI architecture of Meter Data Management solutions like Itron Openway Collection Engine (OWCE) and headend like Silver spring network (SSN).
Enterprise Edition (IEE) processes such as AMI Remote Interrogation (ARI), High Volume Reading Aggregation (HVRA), AMI Billing Exports (ABE), Daily Readings Summary, Like Day Algorithm Process (LDA), Hierarchical Configuration Imports etc.
Meter Network Management System solution like Itron's Open way Collection Engine (OWCE) and Silver spring network (SSN).
Metering application like MV90, MWM, IEE, MDMS, FCS, FNP, SSN/UIQ, OULA.
• Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to manage scope change across work streams ensuring alignment with the business strategy.
• Create relevant documentation such as Software Requirement Document (SRD), Test Strategy, Test Scripts
• Validate Business requirement and Business Requirements mapping to Capability and Release
• Validate alignment of Data and Integration requirements
• Validate test scenarios mapping to business requirements
• Lead execution of test cases in client environment
• Validate end to end testing coverage
• Validate DMS related functionalities e.g. Distribution Power flow, Switching, etc.
• Validate OMS related functionalities e.g. Trouble Management, Crew management, Outage Indices
• Review and Identify Solution Gaps and validate impact analysis for the changes
• Perform As-Is and To-be Business Process Gap Analysis and provide improvement recommendations.
• Anchor client training, in-house capability building.
• Comprehend and design industry standard information exchange models like CIM (61970 & 61968)
• Review and provide recommendations on proposed infrastructure plan and quality assurance test plans.
• Participate in customer workshops, understand both functional and non-functional business requirement and business criticality of desired systems
• Anticipate customer needs and provide inputs for solution.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Extensive travel may be required as per client and project needs.
