Aircraft Mechanic II (Finance)
Background:
PKL Services Inc. will provide Organizational Level (O-Level) maintenance, in support of VRC-30s C-2A aircraft, at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California, 92118.
Summary:
As the PKL Services Inc. Aircraft Mechanic II, must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Perform unscheduled aircraft maintenance in addition to hourly, calendar, phase, and conditional inspections as required by maintenance requirement cards. Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Maintain and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. Requires a working knowledge of technical publications to read and interpret manufacturers and NAVAIR maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Any and all other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
Required educational/skills background:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S.). A minimum of four (4) years of extensive experience in C-2 O Level aviation Contractor personnel shall be able to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check Local Records and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI). Shall be able to obtain a DOD CAC card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems. Will possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications. Shall perform requirements in a manner that meet or exceeds CNAFINST 4790.2 (series), applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions. Shall become familiar and develop a thorough understanding to document maintenance utilizing the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS) OOMA, automated maintenance documentation system within ninety (90) days of employment. 25% TDY travel may be required on occasion.
Physical Demands:
This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Normal color/depth perception and no record of emotional instability are required.
Work Environment (ADA):
May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area.
Office environment, hangar, and flight line The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud at times.
