PLANNING PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is seeking a Part Time Project Manager, to transition to full time within a year, specializing in multimodal transportation planning, resilience and with an interest in thought leadership development. . This position will support existing and ongoing work, and expand into supporting business development for the areas of multimodal and resilience planning.
The Project Manager will provide leadership and support throughout all aspects of project development. The Project Manager will maintain and grow key project components such as progress reports, cost tracking, meeting, agendas and summaries. The position will also include proposal preparation and marketing.
Strong emphasis will be placed on research and best practices expertise, technical writing, business communications skills, quality of work, and the ability to manage project budgets and schedules. Successful candidates for this position will be motivated self-starters who can work both independently, and as part of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Excellent project management including team and client communication, budget, deadlines and scope tracking.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Master's Degree in Urban Planning
•Minimum 12 years of experience is required
•Able to build relationships with a wide variety of people is required
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams is required
•A desire to produce first-class work and the ability to quickly get up to speed on our policy, procedures and relevant software while acquiring an understanding of the company's service offerings, and the standards relevant to your projects is required
Desire to explore new and emerging areas of practice and the interrelatedness of
planning practice fields (i.e. climate change and transportation)
