Patient Care Technician-MRI (Finance)



Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Full Time, Patient Care Tech for the MRI Department to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.

Work Schedule: Monday -Thursday, 11p-7:30a

The MRI Patient Care Tech's primary function is to assist the MRI Technologist with MRI patients on the night shift. The secondary function is to manage a workqueue for outside image transfer to prepare for Nemours clinic work.

  • Preparing patients for examinations and providing assistive care according to established procedures and instructions.
  • Cleaning and setting up room for examination. Holding and assisting in positioning patients during procedures.
  • Providing general support for clinical operation in the Radiology department.
  • Stocks supplies in technical area and checks for expired supplies.
  • Ensure a clean and safe patient care environment.
  • Utilize the electronic medical record as required to document the patient care provided along with assisting in scheduling patients in EPIC and Completing exams in FUJI.
  • Serve as receptionist for unit by promptly answering telephones/call light console, greeting patients/families/visitors, updating and monitoring the child abduction system and managing other software systems.
  • Transport patients to other unit locations and escorts discharged patients to car.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of patient care experience is preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
