Internal Audit Manager (Finance)



Primary Purpose:

This position will report directly to the Executive Director, Internal Audit & Financial Governance and will play a key role in managing the internal auditing function with respect to the Company's businesses, primarily in the Americas & Corporate, and executing the risk-based audit plan for Clarios.

Primary Duties:

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the firm's business and operations.

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with appropriate levels of management, to ensure that Internal Audit is aware of any key changes to business activities and objectives that may impact the control environment and/or may influence the coverage scope and audit plan.  

  • Conduct risk-focused financial, compliance, and operational audits of functional areas & businesses, to assess effectiveness of processes & controls.

  • Provide an independent appraisal of controls in accordance with SOX & Internal Audit policies, methodologies & standards, to assess operating effectiveness. Make recommendations for remediation and improvement of identified issues. Perform follow-up on open audit issues and their remediation.

  • Perform special projects executed at the specific request of management, to provide guidance on the design or implementation of governance, risk management and control processes.

  • Draft audit reports. To communicate findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner, and effectively influence management in the implementation of recommendations. Prepare executive summaries of completed projects and findings.  

  • Assist the Executive Director, Internal Audit & Financial Governance in performing the annual risk assessment, with input from management, to develop the risk-based audit plan.

  • Supervise internal Clarios team members and/or co-sourced personnel in the execution of audit projects. 

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA and CFE desirable.

  • Minimum 8 years of increasingly responsible experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years total with either a public accounting firm, or in a corporate internal audit function.

  • At least 2 years of experience of managing a team.

  • Strong experience in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP required.

  • Experience in manufacturing industries desirable.

  • Experience with data analytics, continuous auditing, and continuous monitoring desirable.   

  • Possess strong leadership, with excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with people even under difficult circumstances.

  • Strong negotiating skills and ability to resolve conflict in order to achieve objectives.
