Software Engineer (Information Technology)



Software Engineer

The Software Engineer is responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of professionally engineered software solutions which meet or exceed Park Place Technologies' quality standards and business needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and the user community to establish, analyze and where appropriate document technical requirements.
  • Produce technical designs and ensure peer review.
  • Develop software in an agreed timescale.
  • Influence programming patterns and standards
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to create test plans and conduct unit (functional) and where appropriate integration and system testing.
  • Participate in the resolution of issues and software bugs identified as part of the SDLC or by software users.
  • Collaborate, share, and learn from team members, and actively follow all team processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate core competency in programming fundamentals and best practices.
  • Be a strong problem solver and possess an excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • Possess strong organizational and process analysis skills.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work on your craft and take initiative in learning new skills.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree is preferred.

Addendum A – IT 

Software Engineer

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Understand business requirements, designs, and wireframes with the ability to transform them into technical requirements and produce high quality code.
  • Participate in POCs and design sessions.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with Visual Studio, GIT and Azure DevOps
  • 4+ years of application development experience or equivalent skills across the following technologies: (requirements may vary within based on backend, frontend or full stack focus)
    • .Net Framework/Core
    • Angular
    • JSON
    • SCSS/SASS

    • Test Driven Development/Unit Testing
    • Typescript, ES6

Addendum B – ITS - Developer

Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Develop customized Dynamics 365 solutions.
  • Develop programming extensions and integrations between D365 FO and other enterprise systems.
  • Support, troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including direct interactions with internal customers as needed.
  • Influence programming patterns and standards that increase developer productivity and code quality in the D365 FO platform.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO architecture
  • 4+ years of application development experience across the following technologies:
    • Dynamics 365 FO product family
    • X++
    • .Net Framework/Core
    • Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, XML

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge or experience with any of the following technologies:
  • SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI
  • JSON

 

Addendum C – Ops- Solutions Support

Entuity Software Support

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain a library of Entuity software configurations and scripts that facilitate data collection and automated OS backups and OS upgrades for supported network devices.
  • Work closely with Entuity Software Development Team to incorporate Device Support configurations and scripts into Entuity software.
  • Assist customers with the development of their own Entuity software configurations and scripts.
  • Assist customers with the development of data integrations between Entuity software and third-party software.
  • Provide effective identification and resolution of customer problems, ensuring workarounds and/or software patches are made available in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Ensure all customer problems and queries are logged in Park Place Technologies' Helpdesk system, escalated where appropriate and tracked through to completion.
  • Engage with Sales/Pre-Sales Team to facilitate successful Proof of Concept trials.
  • Develop and maintain a full and current awareness of Park Place Technologies' products.
  • Maintain an awareness of IT technologies relevant to the operation of Park Place Technologies' products and services.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience of MS Windows, Red Hat Linux and VMware.
  • Knowledge of network technologies and device types (routers, switches, load balancers, etc.).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network device vendor certifications (CCNA, JNCIA).
