DIRECTOR OF SALES (Marketing)



Title:                      Director of Sales

Reports to:            CEO

Status:                   Full Time Exempt

Direct Reports:      Future Sales Team

Responsibilities:

The Director of Sales will work with Prendio's executive team to create and implement a go-to-market strategy which focuses on expanding our current in-market client base, moving up market and expanding into other industries. They will also build a sales team and work collaboratively with our Marketing department on lead generation campaigns and activities. The Director of Sales will be responsible for meeting annual sales and revenue goals - by managing the results of the new sales team. 

Key Functions:

  • Develop a sales strategy to expand the company's footprint.   
  • Build a sales team and provide strategic and operational direction to maximize sales revenues and meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage a sales infrastructure, including implementing efficient processes, sales forecasts, and staff training to drive pipeline growth, opportunity qualifications, close rate, and support revenue growth.
  • Motivate and coach each member of the sales team; assist sales reps with client meetings, presentations, and negotiations, as needed.
  • Define and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans (growth model) in partnership with Finance, Marketing, and other departments; track success metrics and deliver sales reports and analytics to senior leadership.
  • Develop and implement a competitive sales compensation program in collaboration with the VP/Human Resources.
  • Partner with Marketing to establish lead flow expectations, uncover prospecting opportunities, and develop campaigns to meet contract and revenue targets.  
  • Partner with other internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Customer Success, Product and Engineering) to improve product and service offerings.  
  • Promote an engaged, energetic, and inclusive environment that encourages high productivity while maintaining a positive work experience.  
  • Create accountability within the team by developing appropriate metrics and performance expectations. 
  •  Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM.
  • Consistently demonstrate a passion for Prendio's core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software sales as an executive sales leader with proven year-after-year team goal achievement
  • Proven experience in scaling and growing a sales team within a growing SaaS company.
  • Experience in the Life Science industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience implementing a sales infrastructure, establishing processes, implementing goals, tracking success metrics, and delivering sales reports and analytics to leadership.
  • Experience with HubSpot, or a comparable CRM
  • Ability to coach and develop sales team members to meet established goals.
  • Self-starter, independent, resourceful – driven to action and results.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform and thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment; able to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Strong sales operations skills around forecasting, , commission plans and budgeting.
  • Strong leader and problem solver with excellent customer facing capabilities to influence and negotiate.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to drive decision-making across multiple organizational functions.
