Director, Regulatory Risk Insights (Legal)

Job Description:

Position Summary

The Director of Regulatory Risk Insights oversees the delivery and model optimization  of Epiq's Regulatory Risk Insights solution, which includes multiple workflows with both “Look Back” and “Real Time” Monitoring. Our Global Investigations eDiscovery solution focuses on litigation or similar triggering event, the Regulatory Risk Insights solution focuses on proactive compliance obligations in the absence of a legal trigger. The Director will be responsible for multiple functions,, including but not limited to consulting with clients to understand their goals, overseeing implementation of Regulatory Risk Insights solutions, and facilitating resulting review for providing the client with a Regulatory Risk Insights Findings Report. The Director will serve as the day-to-day contact of Service Delivery, while also supporting sales in presenting and pitching  the offering. The Director will participate in and often lead client facing activities, while also taking responsibility for technical aspects of the offering and participating in relevant discussions. The Director must work independently while also overseeing Analysts and Consultants on an as needed basis. Depending on project needs, it may be necessary for the Director to collaborate with Epiq's broader Client Services and , Document Review, and Sales organization for a particular client to ensure overall project success as well as coordinating with internal resources, including Sales, Operations, Managed Review, Advanced Technologies, and Information Technology. The Director must be able to deliver on multiple projects concurrently, while participating in sales efforts and client presentations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Epiq's Regulatory Risk Insights practice
  • Consult with clients to discuss and understand client needs
  • Act as a liaison between client legal, compliance and technical teams
  • Serve as a SME in the use and application of AI models
  • Execute and oversee regulatory lookback investigations and real-time compliance monitoring
  • Provide client updates and prepare deliverables
  • Perform and participate in sales presentations
  • Evangelise subject matter expertise through speaking engagements, participation in panels and white papers
  • Mentor, train and manage Analysts and Consultants
  • Track project wins, successes and goals and report regularly
  • Develop best practices and document processes
  • Work with Global Investigations practice to maintain expertise regarding white collar and antitrust trends informing our AI models
  • Work with Sales and Global Investigations Practice Leadership to  scope, assign and provide estimates for new clients
  • Work to continuously grow and expand Epiq's  near real time monitoring technology and practice
  • Work with product management in providing solution feedback, improvements and technical needs

Expected Time Commitments:

  • 15% Sales & Marketing Support and Facilitation
  • 15% Internal & Reporting Administrative Work
  • 70% Consulting

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree, such as JD or MBA, preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of client services experience in an eDiscovery and/or Compliance capacity
  • Knowledge of Compliance in a corporate setting
  • Familiarity with regulatory investigations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Skill for synthesizing complex solutions to simplified explanations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Excellent issue spotting and problem-solving
  • Willingness to go above and beyond client expectations
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Technical Proficiency

Candidates based in California, Colorado, Hawaii, New York or Washington:

The Compensation range for this role is 118,026.90 - 236,054.40 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
