Saw Operator (CRL) (Manufacturing)

Position Summary

The extrusion saw operator is to make sure that he is cutting the correct lengths per the cutting instructions on the BOM for each order. He is also to advise the lead person if the extrusion is not meeting the quality and qualifications of what is ordered.  He is responsible in making sure that the material suffers as little damage as possible while cutting it. There is record keeping being kept for all scrap cut offs.

Qualifications

• Work under high safety guide lines in accordance to CR Laurence safety rules.
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Proficient with the tape measure.
• Do own conversions from fraction to decimals or vice versa.
• Be self-aware of any changes on material and/or equipment
• Do hers/his own inspections on material and dimensions
• Work well with others as a team or /and independent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Keep his lead and or supervisor uptodate with any machinery issues.
• Maintain our 6S program.
• Able to communicate of any shortage of material (PR-174)

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

• Be familiar with ferrous and non ferrous materials
• Basic knowledge of machine feeds.
• Identify which piece of equipment is the ideal for different types of materials.
• Be comfortable asking supervisors and or lead about help with any shop issues when needed.
• Basic math skills 

Education and Experience Requirements

• High Scholl diploma or equivalent
• Excellent verbal skills
• Able to communicate in both English/Spanish preferable, but not a required.

Hourly: $17 - $22 depending on experience
