Overview
The Creative Services team partners with stakeholders to translate strategic business goals into actionable, objective, creative expressions of Cook's unique brand in the most relevant and efficient way possible. The Written Content Manager manages a team of copywriters, inspiring and motivating them to create effective and innovative content that supports business priorities, while maintaining a working knowledge of our brand, an understanding of cost and time implications and an awareness of the best ways to approach a customer through written communications.
Responsibilities
• Serve as part of the regional creative leadership team.
• Provide leadership and coaching to team members.
• Maintain a good understanding of company stakeholders and company goals and objectives in order to align projects and priorities.
• Works with creative operations and creative leadership to provide input in to processes for project intake, prioritization, and resourcing.
• Manage a lean and effective creative process in collaboration with creative team managers.
• Works closely with creatives and leadership to ensure creative content is in alignment with the Cook brand, culture values, and polices and to resource functional work.
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.
• Participates in the hiring and training of roles necessary to support the creative team.
• Serve as both a leader and an individual contributor.
• Assist in leading scheduled meetings, brainstorms and team events
• Review creative work developed by team members and provide feedback when necessary
• Support creative vendors, freelance and other required contractual support to meet timelines and objectives.
• Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback, both formally through the performance management process and informally through daily discussions and interactions, while recognizing employees for their contributions.
• Ensures roles and responsibilities, performance expectations and training requirements are developed and clearly documented and communicated to each employee.
• Cultivate a safe, secure, and supportive environment where employees can thrive and morale is maintained.
• Maintain an on-going personal knowledge of software features, updates and integrations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism or other related area
• 7-10 years relevant industry experience
• 2+ years experience leading copywriters
• Good understanding of content creation across multiple mediums
• Good understanding of brand marketing principles
• Previous experience with managing vendors
• Display positive and constructive behaviors that drive team cooperation in achieving objectives.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
• Excels in a highly collaborative team setting and loves to multitask.
Physical Requirements:
• Works under general office environmental conditions.
• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without
reasonable accommodations.
• Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
