Job Description

This position is based out of our headquarters in Colorado Springs. Relocation is not provided for this role.

We're looking for a highly motivated Data & Analytics Intern to join our growing team and contribute across the data lifecycle-from data wrangling and pipeline development to dashboarding and exploratory analysis. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Data Science, helping drive data-informed decisions, scalable solutions, and AI-ready data assets across the organization.

Essential Functions
  • Business Intelligence
    • Assist in creating and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau.
    • Perform ad hoc data analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Data Engineering
    • Support the development and testing of data pipelines using SQL and/or Python.
    • Help document data flows and improve data quality through validation and transformation tasks.
    • Work with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and tools like Databricks and/or Airflow.
  • Data Science & AI Readiness
    • Help curate, tag, and label datasets for use in machine learning and AI applications.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure data assets meet quality standards for training and inference.
    • Help communicate findings through clear visualizations and written summaries.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with SQL and one or more programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and/or big data tools is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
  • Experience with SQL and one or more programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and/or big data tools is a plus.

    Additional Information

    Schedule:

    • Intern may work full-time during the summer months May - August. Daily schedule is flexible based on the candidate's availability. Minimum of twenty hours per week and up to thirty.
    • The internship will not exceed 90 days.
    The pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.
