Business Line Description:
NXP's Edge Processing business designs and markets products that make some of the world's most interesting products possible for many of the world's most innovative companies. The product lines span consumer electronics, wearable and personal products, healthcare and medical devices, smarter homes, intelligent Industries, as well as traditional networking and communications products.
Effective and efficient development tools and software enablement are critical to the success of NXP's broad range of microprocessors and microcontrollers for edge processing applications, and we are looking for a driven individual to spearhead our next generation development systems strategy. In this role you will:
Be the main driver of that strategy, including embedded development tools and flows, and horizontal software enablement / deployment (drivers and broad-use middleware).
Work closely with our software teams in China, Europe, and the US to define tool functionality and roadmap, and with our marcom and vertical marketing teams to develop and implement outboard marketing plans
Collaborate with our strategic tool partners to align with NXP's product portfolio for mutual promotion and success at customers.
Promote our tools strategy to internal organizations, NXP's sales channel and customers to raise awareness and garner feedback.
At least 5 years of experience in embedded C/C++ code development on microcontrollers
BSEE or BSCE, Master's degree preferred
Good understanding of digital circuitry, including common microprocessor/microcontroller memory systems and peripherals
At least 3 years' experience of developing and presenting technical training
Development experience with embedded Linux
Familiarity with Open integrated development environments such as Eclipse and/or Visual Studio
Practical experience with cmake, version control systems and at least one RTOS (e.g. FreeRTOS, ThreadX, MQX, Zephyr)
The successful applicant will have very strong interpersonal skills, be persuasive and positive in outlook, be persistent, and be prepared to negotiate and be collaborative to help achieve the best outcomes.
Must be a strategic thinker who still enjoys hands-on code development, with a passion to deliver the best possible experience to developers.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in development tools and the latest approaches and technologies available to provide the most user friendly and powerful environments for our customers.
