Research Analyst (Biotech)



Description

The Research Analyst collects, evaluates, and prepares research and/or other complex statistical data as needed by administrators, faculty, staff, students, or other constituents. The Research Analyst also prepares statistical and narrative reports and recommendations, and participates in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. In addition, the Research Analyst develops, maintains, and ensures quality control of databases and may assist in development and implementation of measurement systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:

  • Develop and utilize data collection instruments and methods for the evaluation and quality control of research or operational data.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarizes data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
  • Maintain computerized collection and tracking of relevant data.
  • Utilize statistical and visualization software to analyze, interpret and present data.
  • Maintain appropriate records of research methods and results.
  • Participate in or initiate proposal writing and funding searches
  • Develop and/or present training program data utilization.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Effective verbal/written communication, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Ability to facilitate work groups and conduct focus groups
  • Ability to conduct data analysis using both descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Ability to create dashboards using data visualization software

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of work experience in the field
  • Experience working with HBCU data
