Automation Program Manager (Information Technology)



Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position scheduled to typically work Monday through Friday, with core hours between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Applicants hired into this position can work from either Illinois or Wisconsin. Details will be discussed during the interview process.

UW Health is seeking an Automation Program Manager to mature our enterprise automation program and lead our automation initiatives. UW Health has an inspiring and ambitious enterprise automation program that spans nine business units with a current portfolio of 28 use cases.

As the Program Manager, you will:

  • Ensure the success of the constituent projects within the program and be developing or maturing programmatic elements across the program. This includes standards for assessing and measuring the business value of each automation, ROI calculation methodology, prioritization of automation use cases, sequencing of the work, and resource stewardship. 
  • Partner with senior leadership to proactively manage vendor partners, ensuring accountability for deliverables while building strategic, long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with team members who are performing business analysis and developing automations to enable their success in their deliverables which increasing the long-term maturity of these skillsets.
  • As the program scales and its impact increase, you will increasingly drive the long-term automation strategy for UW Health, including the incorporation of emerging AI technologies and the automation footprint across business functions.

Who You Are:

  • You have past work experience with Robotics Process Automation (RPA) technologies, ideally UIPath, and have used it to develop and deploy past automations into production to create time or cost savings. You experience includes Process Design Documents (PDD).
  • From your work experience, you have the hands-on knowhow to work side-by-side with business analysts and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) developers to enable them to be successful with their deliverables and to elevate their work to meet or advance programmatic standards.
  • You have the mindset for assessing the business value and ROI at the project and program level. You can enable, influence, and deliver, effective business analyses and ROI calculations to create and promote the business cases for automation.

Nice to Have:

  • You have experience or familiarity with the Epic Payer Platform or with the Epic software generally.
  • You have domain knowledge in any of: Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) or Ambulatory Operations.
  • You have experience at reviewing vendor contracts.

Education:

Minimum – Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field (4 years combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree)

Work Experience:

Minimum –

  • Demonstrated success in designing and managing the implementation of enterprise class programs while attaining desired results based on goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated success in managing programs deployed in a 24x7 healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated success using effective communication and interpersonal skills to lead others directly or indirectly
  • Demonstrated success being proactive and innovative
  • Demonstrated success leading, collaborating and mentoring cross functional team in support of complex enterprise solutions and programs.
