IT Support Specialist I (481)
Fresno, CA

The IT Support Specialist provides first-level technical assistance to internal and external users, ensuring reliable operation of company-supported systems, hardware, and software. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, coordinating with vendors and IT staff, supporting system maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring proper documentation and inventory of IT assets. The IT Support Specialist also assists with IT projects, trains users on systems and software applications, and supports organizational technology needs to maintain efficient and secure operations.

How will I contribute
Serve as the first point of contact for IT support, providing technical assistance for systems, software, hardware, and peripheral devices.Respond to user queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, determine solutions, and coordinate with hardware/software vendors as needed.Monitor and respond promptly to IT helpdesk requests; provide resolution or escalate advanced issues to the appropriate staff.Ensure all service requests are accurately documented, tracked, and closed in the ticketing system.Schedule and support system upgrades and maintenance to minimize business disruption.Collaborate with system and network administrators to explain errors, provide feedback, and recommend improvements to systems and processes.Support executive meetings and conference rooms by setting up and operating audiovisual and IT equipment.Manage email/distribution lists, Office365 accounts, and license administration.Install, configure, and maintain specialized software, including developing file structures, report formats, input forms, and ensuring data security.Install, configure, relocate, and troubleshoot PC/server hardware and software; apply system upgrades, optimize performance, and support network connectivity.Diagnose and resolve LAN and network cable configuration issues.Train and assist users on standard systems and software applications, including demonstrating advanced functions and techniques.Support IT projects such as new system installations, department-specific needs assessments, and hardware/software evaluations.Maintain proper control of IT equipment inventory, including scheduling, audits, and collection of equipment after use.Provide after-hours IT support to end users as needed.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.Use of company vehicles may be subject to monitoring via in-vehicle dashcam systems for safety, compliance, and operational purposes. These systems may collect video, audio (in limited situations), and telematics data during vehicle use. As a condition of employment in a position requiring the operation of agency vehicles, employees are required to acknowledge and consent to the use of such monitoring technologies. Refusal to provide consent may disqualify an individual from being assigned driving responsibilities. All monitoring is conducted in compliance with applicable California privacy laws.

What I bring

High School Diploma (or Equivalent)
1 year of hands-on experience in IT support, helpdesk operations, or technical troubleshooting. Class C Driving LicenseStrong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common business applications. Knowledge of Office365 administration, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and audiovisual equipment setup.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills to provide clear guidance to users at all levels. Capable of documenting processes accurately, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and adapting to changing technology needs.Demonstrates reliability, integrity, and accountability in handling technical responsibilities. Maintains professionalism and discretion when working with sensitive information. Shows a proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.Associates or bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Experience supporting Office365, network systems, and audiovisual equipment preferred. Experience using ticketing systems, coordinating with vendors, and providing user training is also valuable.
