Slitting Line Assistant (Manufacturing)
Job Summary
Assist the Operator, as directed, in such a manner as to provide maximum productivity, quality and yields. Substitute for the Operator for training and in the event of absenteeism or vacations.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
• Responsible to collect and move material to and from the machine
• Follow production instructions given to them by the operator they are paired with
• Log into job on Steel ll and enter down time codes as required
• Assist on verifying setups throughout the process
• Periodically check the dimensions with a measuring tape
• Continuous training to acquire the skills necessary to become proficient operator, consistent with our established operating procedures
• Other duties as assigned
Preferred Education and/or Experience
• Must be able to follow instructions and communicate well
• Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions
• Must be able to comprehend and use basic math
• High school diploma
• 1 – 2 years' experience in production process (metals industry preferred)
• Knowledge of reading measuring devises
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer knowledge
