High-school work-study: Product Support, Manufacturing, Warehouse (Fall 2022 & Spring 2023) (Agriculture)



We are seeking a part-time High-school work-study: Product Support, Manufacturing, Warehouse (Fall 2022 & Spring 2023) for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area.  In this role, you will be responsible for developing skills in customer service, product knowledge and technical troubleshooting in order to resolve issues for Garmin customers related to products, services, orders and other areas as needed.

  • Product support: Are you a problem solver? Do you love technology and get excited to share that with others? If you answered “yes,” then a career as a Product Support Specialist might be for you.
  • Warehouse: Interested in exploring a career path in distribution? If yes, Warehouse is the perfect place for you.
  • Manufacturing: Do you have an interest in electronics and like to work with your hands? If solving complex problems and using tools sounds like your thing, you'd be a good fit in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Work with mentor to develop skills to resolve customer inquires and requests regarding products, orders, pricing and other services offered
  • Develop a working understanding of Product Support systems and resources
  • Accurately and timely enter notes regarding customer inquiries and issues
  • Develop and maintain department and company image and philosophy to the public
  • Become highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities and operation of Garmin products and on policies, procedures, and product offerings
  • Monitor, document and report improvement needs in Garmin equipment, systems, procedures, training and other relevant areas
  • Work a consistent and reliable schedule as identified by management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Demonstrated interest for the product segment and interest in developing product knowledge
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Interest in developing technical skills and troubleshooting abilities
  • Must exhibit professionalism, be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • High School Seniors who plan to enter the workforce upon graduation
  • Able to work the following schedule during the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semester
    • Mon-Thurs 12pm-4pm (Warehouse)
    • Mon-Thurs 4pm-8pm (Warehouse and Manufacturing)
    • Mon-Thurs 4pm-7pm (Product Support)
  • Can work in-person at our Olathe facilities
