Reports to the Director, Patient Care Services. Under the supervision of the Manager and in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and legal regulatory requirements, performs a variety of tasks that relate to the preparation and delivery of infant formula and breastmilk nutrition orders and the preparation of tubing for central line fluids and Hyper Alimentation.

Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a math competency test is required.
Knowledge & Skills
Requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including the ability to understand formula and breastmilk preparation terminology.
Demonstrates math skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, use fractions and calculate percentages to accurately compute and prepare formula and breastmilk nutrition orders.
Ability to read, understand and interpret nutrition orders, equipment, materials and work instructions to complete tasks.
Requires good eyesight and attention to detail.
Requires knowledge and skill in aseptic and sterile techniques or ability to learn.
Demonstrates the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, visitors, physicians and team members and to maintain positive working relationships.
Working Conditions
Works in a patient care environment with possible exposure to bio-hazards.
Requires the ability to work flexible hours.
Requires considerable sitting and standing for long periods of time
Physical Demands
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, physical dexterity to manipulate syringes, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
