NA (North American) Logistics Manager (Biotech)



JOB SUMMARY
NA (North American) Logistics Manager is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day logistics function across TekniPlex in North America. This will include planning and executing RFPs, carrier issue escalations and resolution along with management of the associated freight systems. Integral to the success of the logistics function is balancing the internal and external customer's freight needs with carrier capabilities within budget. Along with truckload, less-than-truckload and intermodal is parcel freight, asset management of a small fleet and a dedicated service solution.

This will be a remote position with approx 10% travel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• 3rd party supplier management
o Transport Management System provider
o Freight Bill Pay & Audit 3rd party
o Dedicated Fleet Supplier
o Supplier Relationship Management
• Fleet management (Ridgefield, Holland, Bloomfield)
o USDOT
o FMSCA
o Leased assets
• North American Parcel (UPS and FedEx) account management
• Periodic $30M domestic freight RFP events
o Carrier negotiations
o Evaluate suppliers according to metrics and business needs
• Monthly KPI reporting and regular market condition reporting
• Carrier escalation contact
• Support both internal customers (plants) and external customers
• Help foster trusting relationships with carriers and logistics vendors
• Collaborate with IT to implement effective systems
• Track KPIs and report on departmental performance

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree is preferred in a relevant discipline such as business, supply chain, logistics
• 5-7 years' experience in an logistics role preferred
• Familiarity order to payment process for logistics vendors
• Familiarity with NMFC, parcel classification, hours of service rules
• Good working level of MS Excel, and working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases and ERP systems
• Analytical mind with business acumen
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding organizational ability
• Fluency in Spanish highly desired
