Lead Maintenance Technician (Maintenance)

Dematic's Resident Maintenance Team has an opening for a Lead Maintenance Technicinan at our Wayne, NJ location. This role will work 7am - 7pm / 4 days on - 3 days / 3 days on - 4 days off. The Resident Site Lead will manage and direct the day-to-day performance of the material handling equipment supported by his/her specific team. This person's decisions can have a moderate to high-level impact on business operations.
Using problem solving and critical thinking, key tasks include the following:
1. Lead, coordinate, and direct all functions of their report staff.
2. Perform at professional level to interpret/process more complex, less-clearly defined issues.
3. Identify and resolve complex problems.
4. Define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to gain optimum effectiveness.
5. Participate in development of department budgets and business plans for functional area.
6. Evaluate and recommend changes in methods or procedures within own area of responsibility.
7. Identify resource needs and will develop justification.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
Education - Associates degree, Technical degree, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge/Qualifications:
1. Demonstrate and apply broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s).
2. Demonstrate understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
3. Possess 5 years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
4. Have experience with the following technical skill sets:
a. Allen-Bradley or equivalent PLC controls platforms
b. DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, Ethernet, or equivalent network communications platform
c. Electrical troubleshooting skills to include wiring, ac power, ac motors, electrical drawings/schematics ,and control panels
d. Servo Drives, PC controllers, dc power supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photoeyes, etc.)
e. Knowledge of automated equipment; preferably automated material handling systems
f. Mechanical experienceg. Lean Principles (4-Step Problem Solve, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
h. Microsoft Office
i. Experience with Automated Guided Vehicles
5. Able to evaluate and analyze:
a. System/equipment performance data
b. Perform root cause analysis
c. Manage resolution of design-performance issues
6. Able to gauge, identify, and implement training based on skill assessment results.
7. Able to manage KPIs and fault data using these methods:
a. Track and measure
b. Evaluate and analyze the data
c. Implement and direct improvement
8. Able to create reports and communication materials to track and report performance issues.
9. Demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance and operations of MHE to the customer.
