Transportation Operations Manager (Architecture)



Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professional Transportation Operations Manager to join our team! The Transportation Operations Manager will oversee and maintain an orderly flow of donated materials from donor to store site and/or salvage vendors. Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Oversees and maintains the donated goods collection and transportation efforts.
  • Oversees employee performance and allocates driver assignments.
  • Champions safe operational practices.
  • Facilitates prescribed system of collection and processing of donated goods.
  • Coordinates sales of salvaged materials to vendors.
  • Trains, schedules and manages Drivers and Material Handlers.
  • Participate in agency and safety committees, trainings, meetings and conferences as appropriated.
  • Maintains critical recurring reports, such as: TAR, Credential, Vehicle Inspection Log, Forklift Certification, GPS Tracking, Fleet maintenance etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED, required.
  • Must have at least two (2) years or more experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to supervise and lead others.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work on a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to meet the requirements of heavy work: occasionally sitting, exerting 50 to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50lbs of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20lbs of force constantly to move objects.
